Online Lessons
I'm happy to announce that I'll soon be offering individual online Handpan lessons again!
If you'd like to spend some time exploring your instrument together, working on specific aspects of your playing, or simply getting some fresh ideas and inspiration, I'd be happy to welcome you for a personal online session.
Just like my in person workshops, these lessons are entirely individual. It doesn't matter whether you're just starting out or have been playing for years. We'll work with whatever you bring to the session.
How does it work?
The lessons take place via Zoom.
You'll receive an invitation link on the day of our lesson, shortly before the call starts.
Each session lasts 60 minutes and is completely dedicated to you, your questions, and whatever you'd like to explore.
What does it cost?
One individual online lesson costs €100.
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes.
Do I need a specific scale or level to participate?
There is no required level of experience. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced player, you're very welcome.
For practical playing lessons, I currently offer sessions on the following scales:
D Kurd
F# Low Pygmy
E Amara
D Aegean
The reason for this is quite simple. When working on specific playing techniques, patterns, or musical ideas, it's important that I can demonstrate things on an instrument that allows you to follow along.
But what if you play a different scale?
Please don't hesitate to reach out anyway!
Even if you own a completely different or rather unusual scale, there are still plenty of things we can explore together.
One aspect of playing the Handpan that I particularly enjoy sharing is how I approach an instrument I've never played before. How I begin to understand its structure, discover the relationships between its notes, and gradually find musical possibilities within it.
This is something we can explore with almost any scale.
In that case, our lesson might be more focused on understanding your instrument, discussing musical concepts, and exploring my personal approach rather than learning specific patterns or compositions together.
Just let me know which scale you have, and we'll see what makes sense.
What can I expect from a lesson?
Every lesson is different because every person brings something different to the table.
There is no fixed program that we need to follow.
We can work on technique, coordination, rhythm, improvisation, composition, musical structure, or specific ideas you'd like to develop.
Maybe you're struggling with a particular aspect of your playing. Maybe you're looking for new ways to approach your instrument. Or maybe you're already perfectly happy with your playing and simply curious about how I understand and create music.
I'm happy to share my personal approach, the way I practice, how I develop musical ideas, and how I understand the structure and possibilities of the Handpan.
For me, playing an instrument has always been about more than just learning patterns or techniques. It's also about listening, exploring, experimenting, and discovering your own way of expressing yourself through music.
Whatever you'd like to focus on, we'll figure it out together.
What do I need to know before our first lesson?
Before scheduling our first session, please let me know which Handpan scale you're playing.
You're also welcome to tell me a little about yourself, how long you've been playing, and whether there's anything specific you'd like to work on.
But don't feel like you need to prepare a detailed list of questions or have a clear goal in mind.
Sometimes the most interesting things come up naturally during a conversation or while playing together.
The more I know beforehand, the easier it is for me to prepare, but we can also figure things out as we go.
